Replicated racing template / movement / AI racers
A racing template for creature mounts
Gyris was another racing project, but with a different art style and creatures instead of vehicles. It was built around the client's NFT creatures and quadruped mounts, with a setting rooted in Indonesian mythology. My part was building the complete replicated multiplayer racing template.
A lot of the movement work was specific to the mounts. I worked on inverse kinematics for the legs, powersliding mechanics and CPU racer behaviour. The clips show those parts being developed, rather than just a finished race with everything hidden underneath.
I also worked on the checkpoint system, race-position display and the smaller multiplayer details, including the ready check and player-name editing. Together, those pieces formed the racing template: how the mounts moved, how races were tracked and how players joined in.
